1961 Single Cab Transporter Price: $22,500. USD
It is time for someone else to enjoy my used and abused, bumped and bruised but mostly original double treasure chest 1961 Single Cab Transporter. After being passed through several well intended owners up the U.S. east coast, I bought it in 2019 and brought it back to life in 2020. I went through the complete braking system, updating to a dual circuit master cylinder along the way. All the electrical (with the exception of the wiper motor) has been converted to 12 volt. There was no transaxle in it, I installed a complete big nut RGB unit out of a 66 Bus. Then I modified the bell housing to accept the 200mm flywheel of the current 1600cc dual port engine. The engine is nothing special, just a good running stock 1600. The paint appears to all the original Dove Blue with the exception of the lower nose and door bottoms. The gates read "USED PARTS FROM UNABUSED CARS" I installed new lower front door hinge sections, door bottoms and a new cab floor. There is evidence of the axle beam being replaced at some point a long time ago, because the right front wheel well has been replaced, and the current beam is a 1963 style. The SC drives great, and everything works including the heat! The vinyl on the Camel Hump seat is very good with the exception of the cotton stitching opening up in a couple of spots. Look at the pics. Other than what I mentioned that I have done, I can find no evidence of any body work ever being done on this SC. There is no body filler.
I am asking $22,500.00 and I am in the southeast corner of New Hampshire USA. See link for 30 pic album.
