If you missed it over the weekend, I’m on Let’s Talk Dubs.

Bill Tsagrinos had me on Episode 374 to talk about how VWTraders.com started, why we built it the way we did, and what the first few months of being live have actually felt like. The episode dropped September 26th and runs about an hour and fourteen minutes.

Listen here:

This one meant a lot to me.

Let’s Talk Dubs has been one of the voices of the air-cooled hobby for years. Bill interviews the builders, the racers, the parts guys, and the people who keep this scene moving. Getting to sit down and tell the story of the site on that show still doesn’t feel real.

What we talked about

We covered the stuff that actually matters if you own one of these cars.

Buying and selling air-cooled VWs in 2026 is harder than it should be. Marketplace only reaches so far. A lot of the older classified sites don’t work well on a phone. Good cars get buried. Good buyers never see them.

That’s why the site exists. VWTraders.com is a free classifieds site for vintage air-cooled Volkswagens. List your car. Browse listings. Connect with people across North America. The deal still happens between you and the other person — we just try to make the first step easier.

We also talked about my VW beginnings, launching the site live at the 5th Annual Germanaire Car Show & Social in Niagara Falls on June 28th, handing out the first VWTraders.com Choice Award to Todd Telford’s 1964 green Beetle, and CIP1 sponsoring that award with a $250 gift certificate. Three months later, the support from this community is still the best part of the whole thing.

One thing I made sure to say on the show, and I’ll say it here too: VWTraders.com is not affiliated with Volkswagen or any of its companies. We’re a community site. That’s it.

What’s next

If you’re heading to Las Vegas this week for One Crazy Weekend, look for us. That’s Bill’s show — October 1st to 4th — and we can’t wait to meet the West Coast crowd in person.

If you’re not going to Vegas, do this instead: listen to Episode 374, then come back here and poke around. If you’ve got a Bug, a Bus, a Ghia, or a project sitting in the shop, list it. It’s free.

Thank you

This site only exists because people said yes when they didn’t have to.

A huge thank you to Greg Stogren and the Germanaire Car Show in Niagara Falls for letting us launch VWTraders.com from his show. That stage on June 28th was the best possible way to put this thing in front of the community.

Dan Leadbetter at VW Trends Magazine — your guidance and support from day one has been incredible. The magazine ad, the advice, and just having someone in this hobby believe in the idea meant more than you know.

Rahul — thank you for the back-end support and for helping me build the site. None of this works without the work you put in behind the scenes.

Nina, Josh, Kevin, Dave, Al, and so many more — thank you for the continued support on the site and for spreading the word every chance you get. You guys have been in the trenches with this from the start.

Bill, thank you for the mic and for years of putting this hobby on record. Listeners can find the show at letstalkdubs.com.

Thank you to CIP1 for sponsoring the first Choice Award, to Todd Telford for that 1964 green Beetle, to every beta tester who told us the truth, and to every person who listed a car or sent a friend to the site.

If I missed a name, that’s on me. The last three months only worked because a lot of people gave this thing a chance.
